Introducing User Menus

We are very happy to announce that we have released our first plugin: User Menus on the WordPress plugin directory.

User Menus allows you to create dynamic navigation menus based on who is viewing your website and is the perfect plugin for websites which have logged in users.

Here is a breakdown of the main functionality the plugin provides.

Visibility control

The plugin gives you more control over your nav menu by allowing you to apply visibility controls to menu items e.g who can see each menu item (everyone, logged out users, logged in users, specific user roles).

User meta for logged in users

With User Menus, you can also show a logged in user’s name in a menu item. You can add the following user tags to a menu item: {username}, {first_name}, {last_name}, {display_name}, {nickname} and {email}.

Using this in a nav menu is a great way to show a user that they are logged into your website.

Logout/login links

The plugin also allows you to add logout and login links to your nav menu. You can set where users are redirected to after logging out/in.
